The one-time-payment alternative to cloud signage platforms like ScreenCloud, Yodeck and OptiSigns. No monthly per-screen fee, no US-dollar billing, no renewal next year. A Windows player that keeps running offline, supported from our Puchong showroom.
Bayaran sekali. Tiada langganan bulanan.
ScreenCloud, Yodeck and OptiSigns are cloud platforms billed per screen every month. SmartScheduler is bought once. Here is the honest side-by-side for a Malaysian business.
| SmartScheduler | Cloud SaaS (ScreenCloud / Yodeck / OptiSigns) | |
|---|---|---|
| Payment model | One-time. Pay once, own it | Subscription, per screen, every month |
| Billing currency | Ringgit (MYR) | Usually US dollars, exposed to FX |
| Software fee after year 1 | RM0 | Keeps recurring, per screen |
| Works offline | Yes, content stored on the player | Cloud-managed, needs connection to manage |
| Player | Windows, rated 5 to 8 years | Often Android, Raspberry Pi or ChromeOS |
| Support | Local, Puchong showroom + WhatsApp | Overseas, by ticket across time zones |
| Best for | SMEs and chains that want to pay once | Very large, multi-country screen fleets |
We hear these at our Puchong showroom every week from businesses coming off a monthly plan.
You pay once per screen and that is the end of it. Ten screens or fifty, there is no monthly line item eating your margin every month.
We quote and invoice in ringgit. You know the full price on day one and it does not drift with the exchange rate.
Your content lives on the Windows player inside each screen. If the wifi drops, the loop keeps playing. You only need a connection to push new content.
We are in Puchong. You can visit the showroom, WhatsApp us in your own timezone, and speak to the people who supplied and installed your screens.
These are good products. We are not going to pretend otherwise. The difference is the model, and what fits a Malaysian SME paying its own bills.
A polished cloud dashboard and strong app integrations, built for large and enterprise fleets with compliance needs.
Enterprise-tier subscription per screen, billed from overseas. For a shop or a small chain that wants to pay once, the recurring cost adds up fast.
Low entry price and a free player option on annual plans. A neat pick if you are happy on a monthly plan and a Raspberry Pi player.
Still a monthly per-screen fee that never stops, and the Pi player has a shorter service life than a commercial Windows unit built for all-day use.
A big app and template library with broad consumer-hardware support and mid-tier monthly pricing.
Priced per screen per month in US dollars, managed from the cloud. If you rarely touch 160 apps and just want reliable screens you own, you are paying monthly for range you may not use.
One screen, kept for five years. The exact numbers depend on the plan you pick, but the shape is always the same.
Competitor subscriptions are billed in US dollars and change with plan, promotion and screen count, so we will not print a number that goes stale. Please check their current rates. The point is the shape: a monthly per-screen fee usually overtakes our one-time price within about two to four years, and then keeps charging. SmartScheduler is paid once, and after that the only ongoing cost is your own electricity. If your own case works out cheaper on a cloud plan, we will tell you honestly.
We would rather point you to the right fit than sell you the wrong one.
You run hundreds of screens across several countries, you need a very large third-party app marketplace, or your team wants to manage everything from a browser with no local player to look after. Those are real strengths of the SaaS platforms.
You are a Malaysian business or chain that wants to pay once, keep running when the wifi drops, be billed in ringgit, and reach a local team that installed your screens. That is most of the shops, cafes, clinics and offices we work with.
No subscription on any of these. Pay once, and the SmartScheduler licence is yours for life.
Only need screens for an event? We rent too, at RM329 per unit per day. See the rental page.
Is there a digital signage option in Malaysia with no monthly subscription?
Yes. SmartScheduler is a one-time payment and the software licence is included for life, with no monthly per-screen fee. Software only for an existing TV is RM1,499. A hardware and software bundle is RM2,499. Central control across branches is RM5,499 per screen. ScreenCloud, Yodeck and OptiSigns bill a recurring subscription per screen instead.
Is SmartScheduler a good ScreenCloud, Yodeck or OptiSigns alternative in Malaysia?
For a Malaysian business that wants to pay once instead of every month, yes. Those platforms are solid cloud products, but they charge a subscription per screen billed in US dollars and manage content from the cloud. SmartScheduler is paid once in ringgit, runs a Windows player, keeps playing offline, and is supported locally from our Puchong showroom. If you run hundreds of screens across many countries or need a very large app marketplace, a cloud platform may suit you better, and we will say so.
How much do I actually save going one-time?
It depends on the plan and number of screens, but a per-screen monthly subscription usually overtakes our one-time price within about two to four years, and then keeps charging every month after that. SmartScheduler is paid once and the only ongoing cost is your own electricity. Competitor pricing is billed in US dollars and changes with plan and promotions, so check their current rates. The point is the model: theirs recurs monthly, ours is paid once.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Content is stored on the Windows player inside each screen, so your menus, posters and videos keep playing on schedule even when the wifi drops. Internet is only needed when you push new content. Cloud platforms depend on their servers and your connection for management.
What player does it use?
A Windows player, rated for 12-hour daily commercial use over 5 to 8 years. Many cloud platforms run on Android, Raspberry Pi or ChromeOS players, which are cheaper up front but tend to have shorter service lives. We supply Windows-based only.
Can I move over from my current cloud platform?
Yes. Most businesses keep their existing screens and simply switch the player and the software. WhatsApp us how many screens you run and where, and we will tell you the one-time cost to move across, or tell you honestly if staying put is cheaper for your case.
SmartScheduler powers screens across every industry in Malaysia, all one-time.
